In continuation of its series of activities during 26th edition of Hornbill Festival 2025, the Department of Tribal Affairs through Tribal Research Institute (TRI) Nagaland conducted the state level tribal activities at Naga Solidarity Park, Kohima on December 6.
This event was also part of the celebration of Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh Pakhwada. The event was funded by TRI Division, Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Government of India.
In Tribal Rice Husking competition, Rengma tribe bagged the first position while Zeliang tribe and Konyak tribe were declared as 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
Shanglok Phom from Phom tribe emerged the first position in Tribal Catapult Target Hitting competition while Jill Sangma (Garo) and Zulutoshi (Ao) stood 2nd and 3rd position respectively. In Tribal Spear Throw competition, Bhiiktok Phom representing Phom tribe won the first position while Khiti Kath (Rengma) and Zuklutoshi (Ao) bagged 2nd and 3rd position respectively.
Nagaland’s Tribal Affairs joint secretary T L Kiusumong Tikhir distributed prizes to the winners in the presence of Tribal Affairs Department Director I. Sino Phom.
