Tuensang DPDB deliberates on deplorable road conditions

Tuensang, October 18 (MExN): Tuensang District Planning and Development Board had a meeting at DC conference Hall Tuensang on October 18 under the chairmanship of Mohammed Ali Shihab, DC and Vice Chairman DP&DB Tuensang.


The members of the meeting discussed on the deplorable conditions of the National Highways, District Highways and Village road of Tuensang. Departmental officers were made to comment on the conditions of road conditions and all lamented on the worse of worse conditions.


Secretary Red Cross Society T.Y Sangtam while deliberating on the issue stated that unless step brotherly treatment by the department concerned is rectified the region will never have proper roads and infrastructures in sooner times.


The members were of the view that roads in the district should be given to the BRO so that quality workmanship shall be achieved.


Emergency departments like police, health etc. of the district also lamented on the deplorable condition of the road which affects execution of their departmental duties and functions. They also deliberated on the failures of duties to meet the duties in times of emergencies and law and order situations.


The Officers of the districts were also annoyed by the poor workmanship by the road contractors which lasts only for weeks or months.The forum decided to set up a district committee to pursue the work activities and also decided that roads shall be the agenda for every month’s DP&DB agenda until the necessary arrangements are being met on the road sector.


Lankonsen ADC Shamator appealed to the District Officers to keep a check on their subordinates officers of the sub divisions and check their performances.


Imti Chang, Senior Treasury Officer Tuensang asked the house to submit their salary bills to be submitted starting from 25th of the month or before 2nd last working day of the month so that the employees of the government should get their salary on the last day of the month as per the standing order.
