Jorhat, July 16 (MExN): UCO Bank organised a ‘Resource, MSME, Retail and Agriculture’ (RMR&A) Carnival Camp in Jorhat city on July 14, with Chinmay Kumar Sahu, Deputy General Manager (DGM) from the Bank’s Head Office in Kolkata, as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, DGM Sahu informed that in the financial year 2024–25, the Bank recorded deposits exceeding `2.93 lakh crore, advances of over `2.19 lakh crore, and total business crossing `5.13 lakh crore.
He stated that UCO Bank is conducting the RMR&A Carnival campaign across India and is currently offering various loan and deposit products at interest rates lower than many other banks. He specifically highlighted car loans being provided at the lowest interest rates, with no processing or documentation charges, and urged customers to open accounts for their family members with UCO Bank.
Emphasising the Bank’s strong presence in Northeast India, Sahu noted that all essential banking products are available, with services accessible through digital platforms and all major social media channels.
As per an official release, DGM Sahu also handed over sanction letters to customers availing loan facilities under the carnival campaign. The campaign aims to provide loans to eligible new and existing customers to support business expansion and promote local employment and economic development.
He also interacted with customers to gather suggestions and feedback for improving the Bank’s services.
Earlier, Zonal Manager Narendra Pratap Singh formally inaugurated the camp and welcomed the chief guest and other attendees. He assured that UCO Bank is fully committed to serving customers in the Jorhat zone with promptness and dedication. Singh further affirmed the Bank’s commitment to the socio-economic development of Assam.
Under the ongoing campaign for the financial year 2025–26, loans amounting to over `174.86 crore have been sanctioned by the Jorhat Zone to 2,390 beneficiaries, he informed.
Meanwhile, on July 15, DGM Sahu held a meeting with the Bank’s pension account holders, assuring them of continued support and timely resolution of their concerns. He encouraged the pensioners to motivate their relatives and friends to bank with UCO, reaffirming the institution’s dedication to customer service.
Among others present at the carnival were Deputy Zonal Head of UCO Bank, Jorhat Zone, Hasan Ejaz Hashmi; MSME Head, Amit Kumar; Branch Manager of Jorhat Branch, Nibhas Kumar Thakur; Senior Manager Zonal Office, Hemant Das; Managers Prasurjya Khound and Divyanshu Singh; and Assistant Manager Dipam Jyoti Baruwati.
