UCO Bank Q3 profit up at Rs 739 crore; NPAs decline

Dimapur, January 17 (MExN): UCO Bank, a public sector bank, has declared its financial results for the third quarter (October–December 2025) of the current financial year, reporting a strong performance during the quarter.

Announcing the results, UCO Bank Managing Director Ashwani Kumar said the bank earned a net profit of Rs 739 crore in the quarter under review, compared to Rs 639 crore in the corresponding period of the previous financial year.

The bank’s total business increased by 13.25 per cent year-on-year to Rs 5,53,680 crore. During the period, gross advances rose by 16.74 per cent year-on-year to Rs 2,43,594 crore, while gross deposits increased by 10.64 per cent to Rs 3,10,086 crore.

Highlighting growth in retail, MSME and agricultural credit, Kumar said the bank’s RAM portfolio increased by 25.86 per cent year-on-year to Rs 1,43,919 crore. Retail credit grew by 28.18 per cent, agriculture credit by 24.69 per cent and MSME credit by 23.56 per cent during the quarter.

Significant growth was recorded in the home loan and vehicle loan segments, which rose by 18.79 per cent and 73.52 per cent, respectively, on a year-on-year basis. The capital adequacy ratio (CRAR) stood at 17.43 per cent, while business per employee increased to Rs 26.13 crore during the quarter.

The Managing Director also highlighted improvement in asset quality, stating that in the December 2025 quarter, gross non-performing assets (NPAs) declined by 15 basis points to 2.41 per cent, while net NPAs fell by 7 basis points to 0.36 per cent.

He further said the bank’s mobile banking application has a customer rating of 4.8. So far, the bank has implemented 30 digital journeys, with 10 more to be rolled out shortly. UCO Bank, he added, is committed to providing 100 per cent digital services to its customers, with service quality comparable to that of any other bank.

At present, UCO Bank has 3,327 domestic branches, two overseas branches—one each in Hong Kong and Singapore—and a representative office in Iran. Of the total branches, 2,038, or 61 per cent, are located in rural and semi-urban areas. As on December 31, 2025, the bank operated 2,613 ATMs and 11,128 business correspondent (BC) points across the country.
