Maligaon, August 26 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) today informed that it has undertaken significant steps to enhance healthcare facilities across its network of hospitals, reflecting its focus on the well-being of employees, their families, and the general public.
Under the leadership of General Manager Chetan Kumar Shrivastava, NFR has invested in modernising hospital infrastructure, including advanced diagnostic equipment, state-of-the-art operation theatres, and fully equipped intensive care units, an official release said.
On August 15, the renovated Female Surgical Ward, Orthopaedic Ward, and a Haemodialysis Unit, developed under the Public-Private Partnership model, were inaugurated at the Central Hospital, Maligaon, it said.
Several new health facilities have also been introduced across NFR hospitals this year, including a Digital X-ray unit and a fully automated Auto Analyzer at Divisional Railway Hospital, Katihar, and a new CR System X-Ray machine at the Sub-Divisional Railway Hospital, Rangapara North, it added.
The NFR further informed that an advanced Lasotronix Laser Diode System has been installed at thethe Central Hospital, Maligaon, alongside a newly constructed Post Graduate Doctor’s Hostel and Dormitory and four renovated semi cabins at the hospital.
During the Ambubachi Mela 2025, a First Aid Booth was set up at Kamakhya station from June 20 to 26 to provide health check-up facilities for pilgrims.
Aligned with the Digital India initiative, NFR hospitals have implemented Electronic Health Records (EHRs) to streamline patient care and improve coordination of medical services and continuous training and skill development programmes are also being conducted to ensure staff remain updated with the latest practices and technologies, the release said.
NFR continues to engage in community outreach through health camps and awareness programmes, benefitting thousands of people, it added.
