Unidentified body recovered in Dimapur

Dimapur, May 9 (MExN): An unidentified male body was recovered near a railway track in Dimapur on May 8, police said.

According to the Police statement, a written memo was received at around 5:25 am from the Station Manager of NF Railway, Dimapur, informing that the body of an unidentified non-Naga male, aged around 45 to 50 years, was found lying outside the railway track near Flyover Bridge.

On receiving the information, personnel from the GRPS rushed to the spot for verification. Police said an inquest was conducted and the cause of death was suspected to be due to illness.

After completion of all legal formalities, the body was shifted to the District Hospital Dimapur morgue for post-mortem examination and identification.

The deceased was described as dark-complexioned and around 5 feet 6 inches in height. He was wearing a black-and-red striped shirt with a white T-shirt underneath. Police said the deceased also had a black mole on the chest as an identification mark.
