Union Minister reviews railway services in Arunachal

Itanagar, September 21 (MExN): Union Minister of State of Railways Suresh C Angadi today reviewed the existing railway services and the ongoing construction works in Arunachal Pradesh during a meeting with Sanjive Roy, General Manager, Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) and NK Prasad, General Manager (Con), NFR at Naharlagun railway station. 


As per a press release from Subhanan Chanda, Chief Public Relations Officer, while interacting with media at Naharlagun, Angadi said that safety was the first priority of Indian railways and all endeavors were undertaken to ensure safe running of train.


Angadi also informed that completion of all the pending/ongoing projects will be given due importance for early completion as targeted.


He said that the Prime Minister’s desire of improvement of connectivity of entire Northeast was being followed upon by the Indian Railways.


Earlier today, Angadi also held discussion with the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Pema Khandu about various issues connected with the development of railway infrastructure in the state.


Development of tourism in Arunachal with the involvement of railways was also discussed. 


On September 20, the Union Minister also called on the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Brig (Dr) BD Mishra (Retd) and discussed about strengthening of railway network and improvement of connectivity in the state for overall economic development and strategic importance of the state. 


Important highlights of the review meeting included railway projects in Arunachal Pradesh, land acquisition, initiatives in recent past by Rangiya division and electrification work.
