Union unhappy over condition of govt-run schools at Chiechama

Dimapur, July 22 (MExN): The Chiechama Students’ Union has expressed discontentment over the condition of the government-run schools at Chiechama village, Kohima.
The Chiechama Students’ Union as per the year plan, visited Government High School Chiechama on July 15 but unfortunately, the head of the institution and many teaching staff/non-teaching staff were found absent. On that day, only three teachers with assistant headmistress and a grade IV staffs were running the institution, retorted the union in a press note issued by its president Vizosielie Rüpreo and tribunal Keduoneizo Zumvü.
It stated in the note: “We are very fortunate that the govt. of Nagaland is running one Govt. High School and three Govt. Primary School at Chiechama, providing free education to younger generation with best of the best teachers. However, regretfully, most of the best teachers are very irregular and not sincere in their duties. The Union is not pleased to those teachers who are irregular in their duties and warn that the union will take its own course of action.”
The union also checked the HSLC results of Government High School Chiechama, it stated: “…many students were gone wrong and lost their future and for this the concern dept. should take the responsible.”
In order to tackle the crisis, the Chiechama Students’ Union after consulting with the village council appointed a community teacher in GHS Chiechama for the betterment and progress of the students but the appointee was rejected by the head of the institution on a ground that he would not entertain unless approved by the Director of school education.
Therefore, the Union had applied for the community teacher to be sponsored by the Chiechama Students’ Union for the current academic session to the Education Director in the Month of March 2011 but the same have been pending in the School Education Director table till date.
But the union will give its best to fight for the welfare and progress of the student’s community. In this regards, the union will be conducting free coaching class for GHS students in every subject for class IX and X from 3:00 to 6:00 pm starting from July 18. The union will also give free tuition to all the GPS students, which will be, commence in the month of August 2011.
The union has appreciated to those teachers who are sincere and dedicated in their duties but most of the teachers are very irregular and not sincere in their duties. “… the Union will seek transfer and replacement of those irregular teachers in the Govt. Schools, Chiechama and if the Dept. failed to address our grievances the Union will carry out any kind of agitation and the concern dept. will be held responsible if any untoward incident occur. The Union will not tolerate if any political party/party worker/individual/society or under any political pressure tried to negotiate the rights of the students,” the note said.
