Dimapur, March 5 (MExN): The All Zeliangrong Students' Union Assam Manipur & Nagaland (AZSU AMN) has stated that it has taken a serious not of the factional encounter which occurred on March 5 near Khoupum between the newly floated Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) and NSCN (IM).
A joint press statement issued by president of AZSU (AMN) Pamei Tingenlung and spokesperson of Zeliangrong Youth Front (AMN) Titus Kamei stated that it is very unfortunate that such factional clashes have claimed so many precious lives in Naga society particularly when Nagas are working hard for peace under the banner of Forum for Naga Reconciliation.
The AZSU & ZYF have appealed to the warring factions to stop violence at any cost. “…it is our sincere appeal to various groups to give peace a chance by giving room for civil organisation like Zeliangrong Baudi (SMN), Naga Hoho, UNC etc. to bring mutual understanding among the Naga brothers. Whatever problem and misunderstanding can be solved given the conducive environment. We want peace and bloodshed will not be tolerated in the Zeliangrong region and above all in all the Naga inhabited areas.”
