DIMAPUR, SEPTEMBER 8 (MExN): Veritas defeated Esa Boys by 68 runs in the final to win the 4th edition of the Late I. Pihoto Awomi Memorial Trophy, organised under the aegis of the Dimapur District Cricket Association (DDCA) and Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA).
Batting first in the 20-over final, Veritas posted 175/5. Esa Boys were then bowled out for 107 in 15.3 overs, handing Veritas a 68-run victory.
The DDCA expressed gratitude to Menguvilie Sakhrie, Honorary General Secretary of the NCA, for attending the closing ceremony and encouraging the players. It also acknowledged the support and guidance extended by NCA office bearers and officials, DDCA officials, participating teams, supporters and well-wishers towards the successful conduct of the tournament.
The association also appreciated the contribution of umpires, scorers and groundsmen for their commitment in ensuring the smooth conduct of the matches.
The DDCA said the tournament provided a platform for local cricketers to compete and further develop their skills, while expressing its continued commitment to supporting cricket and sporting activities in the district.
