Dimapur, October 10 (MExN): The Singrijan and Khopanala Villages has felicitated Tezu Pradhan, Head Gaon Bura (GB) on his successful completion of 25 years as Head GB, at its council hall, on October 9, 2011. A press note issued by Amrit Chetri, Singrijan Village, Dimapur stated that while thanking the villagers, Tezu Pradhan, committed that he would continue to work for the greater welfare of the villages in future as well, and also requested the villagers to maintain the co-operation for the all-round development of the villages.
Pradhan also highlighted few challenges among the many that he faced as the Head GB of the villages. He also encouraged the villagers to remain in unison to face larger obstacles as unity could deter any challenges, he maintained. It is to be noted that Tezu Pradhan took the assignment as Head GB from October 9 1986 to October 9, 2011.
The note also mentioned that the thanks giving programme which was attended only by the villagers, witnessed many speeches from chairmen of Singrijan and Khopanala villages, women folk, youth, elders, religious leaders, retired teachers and Debo Sharma, Head GB of Nowgaon Tilla Bosti, who is also the chairman of Shiv Mandir Committee. The programme was chaired by Purna Thapa, Manager, Nagaland State Co-operative Bank Limited while the invocation was said by Pandit Lalit Upadhaya. Temsu Ao presented special number and the programme culminated with benediction from Pastor of Gorkha Baptist Church, Singrijan village.
