Kohima, October 24 (MExN): The Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) of Kohima Urban Division has announced a temporary disruption of water supply to areas within the Kohima Municipal jurisdiction, citing emergency repair works.
In a DIPR update, SDO PHED, Er Ahito K Awomi, stated that the disruption is due to emergency mainline repair works following a landslide at Jotsoma village and ongoing developmental works at Phoolbari near the PHED Service Reservoir. A separate damage to the mainline at Phesama village, caused by land sinking, has also contributed to the supply halt, it added.
Er. Awomi assured the public that the PHED Urban Division is “actively working with the District Administration for necessary redressal at the earliest.”
The Division has requested water supply consumers to bear with the inconvenience and stated that water supply is expected to resume by October 27.
