Dimapur, August 17 (MExN): The Yimchungrü Students’ Union Dimapur (YSUD) has expressed its support to the YTC & YAA for holding mass procession and  the submission of memorandum to the State Government on August 12 at Tuensang.  In regard to the boycott of Yimchungrü Medümnio festival by the ‘Tikhirs’ on August 6, the YSUD in a press note issued by its president Kihoto stated that the ‘Tikhirs’ incited communal tension, demonstrating their anti social activities from Anatanger village by harassing and restraining five commuters of Yimchunger community travelling in a Tata Sumo while on their way from Kiphire to Tuensang.
The note mentioned that the five persons were later send back to Kiphire “who were left with no option but to pull back compromising all their personal works”. Expressing unhappiness over the incident, the union stated: “…we never know how many such incidents will be meted out on innocent publics if they are left to their own free will. So, the YSUD worried about all the Yimchungrü commuters in different walk of life who may now be always apprehensive of being terrorized, hence urge the state govt. to take necessary measures and accede to the YTC & YAA demand in order to bring peaceful atmosphere in its jurisdiction.”
