Imphal, October 11 (NNN): Dr Nelson Vashum, a well known Naga doctor in Manipur was shot at by armed persons last night in Ukhrul at around 9 pm on Monday. Reports said Dr Nelson was shot at by gunmen when he was in his quarter. Dr Nelson got injured in his arm-pit and now he is being treated at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal.
Police sources said Dr Nelson was rushed to the hospital after he was found unconscious in the kitchen of the quarter he was putting up at. As his condition became critical due to excessive bleeding, Dr Nelson was shifted to RIMS in Imphal today. It was reported that the gunmen before they leave Dr Nelson's place warned the doctor with a word 'last warning’.
