The arrested woman has been identified as Khupsian Kim alias Kimboi (30) of Churachandpur district, according to police.
The police recovered 4.27 kg of heroin powder (including the weight of the containers) from her possession.
She was travelling in a passenger service vehicle.
A combined team of VDF and police commando personnel on frisking and checking duty along Tidim Road (Imphal-Churachandpur Road) intercepted the illegal drugs in an airbag belonging to the woman during a check to the passenger vehicle, Bishnupur district SP, N Herojit told reporters.
He said that the team on routine frisking and checking duty in front of the Tronglaobi VDF outpost stopped the passenger vehicle as a part of random checking of vehicles.
