World Rabies Week 2025 was observed under the theme ‘Act Now: You, Me, Community’ in Zunheboto.
Zunheboto, September 24 (MExN): In collaboration with the Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services and Integrated Disease Surveillance Program (IDSP) unit, Chief Medical Officer’s office, Zunheboto District observed World Rabies Week 2025 under the theme ‘Act Now: You, Me, Community.’
The programme was organised at Government Hr Sec School on September 22 and at Olympics Hr Sec School, Zunheboto town on September 23 with the objective of raising awareness on the prevention and control of rabies. Dr Vinoto Aye, Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (VAS), Zunheboto, highlighted the importance of timely management of dog bites and preventive measures against rabies.
He further urged students and the community to take active responsibility in spreading awareness and ensuring vaccination of pets, as rabies is a preventable but fatal disease.
