Dimapur, August 21 (MExN): Kirha Village Youth Organization has thanked the authorities in concern over arresting the rape accused BekutoZhimomi, however, it has expressed resentment over the report, “One arrested for rape, murder”, published in a local daily on August 20, 2011. It termed the report as "false and baseless".
The organisation in response to the report has raised several questions. It stated: “When the victim resides in Kirha Village and the murderer resides in Chekiye Village, therefore, how can they be termed as neighbours? When the victim and her family members does not show any cordial relationship with the murderer, how can the victim and the murderer spent two hours which does not make any sense. And if they had spent the said two hours together what was the actual time? A person in an inebriated state would surely create a loud commotion or noise, but how could the murderer Bekuto Zhimomi in an inebriated state killed the victim with just a wooden plank quietly and silently, leaving the neighbours and family members unaware? If the murderer killed the victim with the wooden plank and ran away, then who left the victim naked, raped her, and caused the bruises on her neck, cut marks(semi circle) on her breast and private parts? What weapon was used to create the cut marks? Without any forensic report, how can it be claimed that the victim was not gang rape and that she was killed by a single person? (sic)”
The organisation has also alleged that it strongly believes that, the murderer is a regular offender and committed the crime well prepared and pre-planned.
It has also condemned the rape accused; Bekuto Zhimomi and has appealed like minded citizens of Nagaland to do the same. “Any individuals, Organizations or Group trying to bail the murderer would be doing so at their own risk,” it warned.
Moreover, it has expressed its gratefulness to Among Jamir, OC; K.Rengma, Yalie Angami, Yawao Konyak and his Assistant for arresting the “murderer”.
