Zhimomi calls for collective think-tank approach

KATK holds 6th triennial session in Dimapur

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 21 (MExN): The sixth triennial session of Kulolau Aghünato Tokukujomi Küqhakulu (KATK) was held at Bellizza Isle, Purana Bazar on December 20, with Advisor to the Government of Nagaland for Land Resources, G Ikuto Zhimomi attending as the special guest.

In his address, Zhimomi congratulated candidates from the Aghünato area who have secured officer-level positions in various departments over the past two years. He said the Aghünato area extends from Khumishi to Nihoshe and comprises four key units—Aghünato Town Area, Aghünato Area Zunheboto, Aghünato Area Kohima and Aghünato Area Dimapur, now known as Kulolau Aghünato Area Kuqhakulu (KATK). Emphasising unity, he advised the units to function as a collective think tank for the overall upliftment of the region, particularly in preparation for the 75-year jubilee celebrations in 2027.

The Advisor urged the people to rise above political and religious divisions and work towards harmony and progress. He also encouraged educated youth to pursue competitive examinations and reiterated his commitment to sponsor interested candidates for coaching under the Local Area Development Project (LADP) scheme.

Chairman of KATK Hukavi T Yepthomi, in his welcome address, said the union comprises five ranges under Aghünato—Asuto, Sata, Aghünato, Tokiye and Hoshepe—and emphasised the need for unity and cooperation among the people.

Hukatoli Yeptho, women leader of Naharbari SBA, delivered the invocation. Mughato K Kiba, assistant professor at Phek Government College, addressed the gathering on behalf of successful candidates of various competitive examinations, stating that felicitation at important platforms acts as a catalyst in boosting the morale of aspirants and motivating them to achieve their goals.

Special numbers were presented by Loinoka H Yeputho, while cultural performances including Aphilo kuwo and Thighale were presented by Lizutomi and women from Aghünato of Padumpukhuri. Mulato Katty presented the secretary’s report for the 2023–2025 tenure.

Former WSBAK executive secretary Rev Vitoshe Swu offered prayers for the gathering and the newly elected executive members.  Ino Khushito Awomi and Angukato Awomi were elected chairman and secretary respectively, along with other office bearers, for the 2026–2028 tenure.
