Zunheboto set for Tulunih

Zunheboto | July 7 : Zunheboto is all set to host the Tulunih Festival, the  premier festival of the Sumi community on July 8 at Town Hall under the theme, “Festival of peace, unity and reconciliation.” As per the programme, Isak Chishi Swu will be gracing the festival as the Tulunih Father while N. Kitovi Zhimomi will be exhorting the gathering.
Sumi Hoho sources said that excepting the NSCN (I-M), Sumi national workers from other Naga groups have already reached Zunheboto town during the time of filing this report.
Elaborate security arrangements have been put in place in view of the fact that state officials and high ranking Sumi members from the Naga political groups have been invited to the programme.
Speaking over the phone, DC Zunheboto T. Kiheto said that the situation in town was normal and peaceful and that the police have also taken adequate security measures for the event.
“There should be no problem,” he added. He informed that various ministers, parliamentary secretaries and MLA have arrived Zunheboto while some more will be reaching tomorrow. Minister for roads and bridges, Kaito and CLP leader Tokheho Yepthomi will also be speaking at the programme.
SP Zunheboto James Humtsoe said that sufficient security has been deployed in the town to see that the celebration passes off peacefully. He informed that three companies of security forces including the NAP, IRB and some women police have been doing duties in town. “So far, the situation is normal and no untoward incidents have taken place,” Humtsoe said.
 
DGU extends Tuluni greetings
