
CHUMOUKEDIMA, FEBRUARY 23 (MExN): The 10th edition of Nagaland Street Fitness took place at CT Square in Chumoukedima on February 23, drawing around 100 athletes from across the state to compete in a range of fitness categories. The event, which began in 2016, aims to promote health, strength, and community while encouraging the growth of Nagaland’s fitness industry.
Founded by Yanpvuo Kikon and Hukupa Thulu-o, along with fitness enthusiasts Ketseiu Talie, Thejakhrietuo Kire, and Vizo Savi, the event has since expanded to include a new generation of organizers.

This year’s committee featured Kenny Soru, Talimoa Jamir, Lily Hasnu, David Wangsha, Musamo Kiho, Team Friction, Neli Dominic, and Avilie Zuyie, all of whom played key roles in coordinating the competition.
Organizers said that the event goes beyond physical achievement, aiming to inspire youth to stay strong, healthy, and fit, while also promoting social messages like quitting ghutkha consumption and striving for a litter-free Nagaland.

The competition crowned champions across several categories. In arm wrestling, Avilie Zuyie won the men’s title, with Huluyi D Vadeo finishing as vice champion. Vikehenuo Zumvii took the top spot in the women’s category, followed by Atalu in second place.
Merenso Kitchu emerged as the fittest man in Nagaland, with Pezalhu Terhüja finishing as runner-up. Among women, Peiheiteile Esalung took first place, while Machen secured second.
In the Best Physique category, Siilow Saprii claimed the men’s title, with Temjensowa Imsong as vice champion. Ekhumnaro was named the women’s champion. The Universal Gym secured the title of Strongest Gym, with Nimok Power finishing in second place.
