Maligaon, September 3 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway Sports Association (NFRSA) Wushu Academy secured the Taolu Runners-Up Trophy in the Sub-Junior category at the 23rd Sub-Junior and 23rd Junior All Assam Inter-District Wushu Championship 2026 held at Udalguri, Assam.
The NFRSA contingent of 22 athletes competed against 26 district teams and more than 400 participants, winning 30 medals comprising six gold, 19 silver and five bronze. Satyam Chakroborty won gold in Nangun, while Gravilk Mohalia secured gold medals in Nanquan and Nandao. Nishant Kr Mandal won gold in Taichi Jian, while Farhin Hazarika and Rishikesh Sardar secured gold medals in Wing Chun.
The team competed under coach N.C. Rao. The performance highlighted the growing strength of Wushu within NFRSA and the organisation’s efforts to provide young athletes opportunities to develop their skills and compete at higher levels. The achievement also added to N.F. Railway’s sporting record, with the academy’s medal tally and runners-up finish reflecting the discipline and commitment of its young athletes.
