Centurion FC Kohima Village and Rangers FC Medziphema today entered pre-quarter finals after registering wins in their respective matches at the ongoing 19th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2018 here under the aegis of Angami Students’ Union.
In the first match of the day, Centurion FC sealed their victory against Jakhama Youth Organisation by 7-0.
Breaking the suspense of the competitive spirit in the 16th minute, Punuru Nienu of Centurion FC scored the 1st goal turning the game in favour of his team.
He went on to add the tally by scoring the 4th, 5th & 7th goals in the 61st, 64th & 90+ minute.
Imlongchaba contributed the 2nd & 6th goals in the 19th & 71st minute while the 3rd goal came from the boot of Rabindra Meitei in the 60th minute.
In another goal galore of a match, Rangers FC defeated Phezhu Boys FC Jotsoma by 7-3.
Rangers FC took the lead till the lemon break with two goals scored by Lima in the 13th minute and Semin in the 32nd minute.
Later in the second half, Semin netted the 3rd goal in the 51st minute while Lima scored the 4th goals in the 69th minute.
Zumzum contributed 3 consecutive goals in the 72nd, 75th & 79th minutes making it a hat trick for himself. The goals for Phezhu Boys FC Jotsoma came through Roko, Neilie and Ngampü in the 66th, 77th & 84th minute respectively.
With this win, Rangers FC Medziphema will clash with Centurion FC in the pre-quarter finals on October 12 at 12:00 noon.
