Khuzama Youth Organisation and Senapati FC today qualified for the round of 16 after winning their respective matches at the ongoing 19th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2018 here under the aegis of the Angami Students’ Union.
In the first match of the day, Khuzama Youth Organisation beat Young Kickers FC 6-2. Scoring a hattrick with 5 brilliant goals, Kezhose Khizho of KYO ensured victory for his team.
He scored the first and second goal through a header in the 11th & 39th minutes while the third goal was netted during the first half injury time.
He went on to contribute the fourth and sixth goals in the 51st & 79th minutes of the play while Vilhouvoto Sale scored the 5th goal in the 74th minute.
Two goals in favour of Young Kickers FC came from the boots of Zevete Doulo and Shovelo Doulo in the 23rd & 80th minutes.
Avito Thaprü of KYO was cautioned with a yellow card for foul play. Playing the last match of the second round, Senapati FC defeated Modern College FC 2-0 to qualify for the round-16.
Imda opened the account for Senapati FC in the 26th minute while the second goal came in the 67th minute from the boot of Sülounü.
Modern College FC gave it's all out effort but went in vain as Senapati FC responded equally by not providing space for the opponent to penetrate.
Koveo of Senapati FC, Kricho Kayina and Ngaopulo of Modern College FC were shown yellow cards for unsporting behavior.
Senapati FC will now clash with Khuzama Youth Organisation on October 13 at 2:00 PM.
Until the second round, 168 goals have been scored, witnessing three tie-break for deciding the match, and as many as 57 yellow cards cautioned to players for displaying unsporting behavior.
The list of record includes 11 hattricks, with Rhitso Mero of Kohima Eagles FC as the leading scorer of the tournament with 10 goals, followed by Kezhose Khizho (7 goals) of Khuzama Youth Organisation.
