The 1st edition of the Centre Chakhesang Sports’ Association (CCSA) commenced at Pfutsero Sports Complex, Pfutsero under Phek district on August 20.
Nagaland Youth Resources & Sports, Advisor, S Keoshu Yimkhiung graced the opening ceremony as the special guest.
Speaking on the occasion, he urged the prayer to be dedicated and committed in their strive for excellence. He said that the state government is committed to promote sports under the leadership of chief minister Dr Neiphiu Rio and urged upon the Naga youth to avail the various facilities being extended by the government. He also urged the CCSA to intensify coaching camp for youngsters to enable them to excel beyond home turf.
Earlier, CCSA President Dode Nakro delivered presidential address. The tournament will continue till August 22.
This Tournament is registered under Football Association Phek District.
The Champion will be awarded with a cash prize of Rs. 1.20 lakh while runner-up will receive Rs. 70,000.
Semi finalists will get Rs. 10,000 each. There will also be individual prizes for Golden Ball/Boot, Clove and Man of the Match.
