21 Shramik trains reach NFR region, nearly 25000 on board  

Maligaon, May 10 (MExN): Shramik Special Trains which started operations from various locations of the country from May 1 are being run continuously to move migrant workers, pilgrims, tourists, students and other persons stranded at different places due to lock-down as per the guideline issued by Ministry of Home Affairs(MHA), a press note from the CPRO stated on Sunday.


21 such Shramik Special Trains reached NFR areas with nearly 25000 people comprising mainly students, patients and migrant labours with their family members. Out of 21 trains, 10 trains arrived at Katihar, 7(seven) trains arrived at Purnea, 3 (three) arrived at Arariya and 1(one) arrived at Kishanganj stations with stranded people from various locations of the country.


All passengers were guided by RPF & GRP personal in queues after de-boarding from the train for proper screening by state government officials by maintaining social distancing and later they were accommodated in buses for despatch to their respective districts, the release added.


6 more such Shramik Special Trains are planned to reach various stations of Bihar within NFR area in the coming 2-3 days. Another 2 trains- one for Tripura and another for Manipur are also planned to reach the respective states in the next 2-3 days.


These Shramik Special trains are operated only on receipt of requests from the respective state governments by observing the guidelines issued by the MHA, Government of India, the release added.
