MOKOKCHUNG, OCTOBER 11 (MExN): The 3rd edition of the Mokokchung district Inter-Departmental Sports Meet was inaugurated on Saturday at the Multi-purpose Sports Stadium, Imkongmeren Sports Complex, with Deputy Commissioner Ajit Kumar Verma, IAS, as the chief guest. The three-day event features a range of sports disciplines involving government employees from various departments.
In his address, the Deputy Commissioner said such events provide a common platform for employees to come together, fostering team spirit and interdepartmental coordination. He stressed the importance of balancing work and leisure to maintain physical and mental well-being, and commended the organizing committee for their efforts in arranging the tournament.
The programme included a special performance by Jubilee Memorial College and the oath-taking ceremony led by District Sports Officer Zhopovi Zecho. The inauguration also saw the championship trophy handed over to the organizing committee by the reigning champions, the Education Department.
