CHÜMOUKEDIMA, APRIL 26 (MExN): Doyang Queens and Dhansiri Titans registered dominant victories in their respective matches in the 4th Edition of the Women’s Champions Trophy 2025, with comprehensive wins over Tizu Warriors and Chathe Dazzlers, respectively.
At the Sovima Cricket Ground in Chümoukedima, Doyang Queens triumphed over Tizu Warriors by 7 wickets, following a clinical bowling performance. Tizu Warriors, opting to bat first, were bowled out for a meagre 52 runs in just 27 overs. Najmeen and Manisha top-scored for their side with 7 runs each, as Doyang Queens' bowlers, led by Rongsenmenla and Bipila, tore through their batting order.
Rongsenmenla was the standout performer, taking 4 wickets for 10 runs in 6 overs, while Bipila supported her well with figures of 3/8 in 6 overs.
In reply, Doyang Queens chased down the target comfortably, reaching 53/3 in 12.5 overs. Bipila continued her fine form with the bat, contributing 19 runs off 22 balls. Neinuo Rupreo remained unbeaten on 12 off 18 balls to guide her team to victory. Despite a valiant effort from Manisha, who claimed 2/18 in 5 overs, Tizu Warriors’ total was too low to defend.
At the Nagaland Cricket Stadium in Dimapur, Dhansiri Titans defeated Chathe Dazzlers by 8 wickets in a dominant fashion. Chathe Dazzlers, sent in to bat first, struggled to score and were dismissed for just 53 runs in 18 overs. Nitu was the only bright spot for the Dazzlers, scoring 21 runs off 20 balls, while the rest of the team fell to a disciplined Dhansiri bowling attack.
Imsusenla Longkumer led the charge with the ball, picking up 3 wickets for 12 runs in 4 overs, while Rwisumwi Basumatari supported well with 3/21 in 6 overs.
Chasing down the small target, Dhansiri Titans reached 54/2 in just 6 overs. Iduabeule anchored the chase, remaining unbeaten on 20 runs off 15 balls, ensuring a clinical finish for her side. Although Elina Muru took 2 wickets for 15 runs in 3 overs for Chathe Dazzlers, the low target left no room for a fightback.
Both teams showcased dominant all-round performances, securing comfortable victories in their respective encounters.
