The 6th edition of Vision Trinity (VT) Women’s Basketball Tournament 2024 commenced today under the aegis of Vision Trinity Club (VTC) and sponsored by VLCC at St Mary’s Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
The tournament was formally inaugurated by MLA Dr Tseilhoutuo Rhutso, chairman Kohima District Planning & Development Board.
Six teams- Orca, Elite, LFS, Touch Line (Shillong), Artemis and Loyola joined the tournament, which will continue till October 11.
The Champion will carry a cash prize of Rs. 35,000 while runner-up will receive Rs 20,000. There will also be individual prizes.
Earlier, VTC president Nunese Sale delivered welcome address while Sr Anit, vice principal St Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School Kohima invoked God’s blessings. Sports secretary Luokepezo Suohu administered oath to the participating teams.
The opening ceremony was compered by Rokongunuo Zashiimo.
Meanwhile, Neithono R Sothu, president Angami Women Organization will be the guest of honour at the closing ceremony on October 11.
