The 7th NAP Battalion, Bhandari, observed its 39th Raising Day at the battalion headquarters in Bhandari, Wokha, on April 1.
Speaking at the programme, Commandant of the 7th NAP Battalion, Aotula T Imchen, who was also accorded a ceremonial guard of honour, remarked that 39 years is a significant milestone for the battalion.
She encouraged all ranks to continue serving with dignity and discipline while setting an example of leadership and inspiration for others to follow.
As part of the celebrations, a proficiency demonstration in arms handling was conducted by Lance Naik Wobenthung Kikon and Constable Longshithung Yanthan.
A Sports Day was also held on March 29 and 31, with all companies of the battalion participating.
In volleyball, D Company emerged as champions over the Administrative Company. In carrom, B Company defeated C Company in the final match. In the tug-of-war competition, D Company triumphed over the Administrative Company, while in the drill competition, A Company and E Company secured the first and second positions, respectively.
During the closing ceremony, Sunep Lemtur and Havildar Etongbemo Kithan entertained the crowd with song performances. The day’s programme was chaired by Assistant Commandant of the 7th NAP Bhandari, Ngimchule Nampeung.
