80th Naga I-Day marked across FGN regions

Dimapur, August 14 (MExN): The 80th Naga Independence Day was commemorated on August 14 across various regions under the Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN), led by Brig (Retd) S Singnya, Kedahge.

The Midan Peyus, functioning as Regional heads, organised the national day events in their respective areas following government directives, stated a press release. 

In the Khiamniungan Region, the main programme was held at Longdon Range. K Thanghiu, Secretary to the Kedahge, unfurled the Naga national flag and delivered the Kedahge’s message as chief guest. The event, chaired by S Langoi, Deputy Secretary, began with a sanctification prayer by LK Pishen, Head Chaplain of NNPC FGN.

The proceedings were initiated by the GOC E/C, N/A FGN, and the Midan Peyu of the Khiamniungan Region. Regional authorities attended the commendation. Mechu, Speaker of the Lecy Hoho, delivered the vote of thanks, and the programme concluded with a mass prayer.
