CHÜMOUKEDIMA, MARCH 27 (MExN): St. Joseph University inaugurated its 8th Annual Sports and Games Meet 2025 on Wednesday, with events scheduled to continue through March 29. Former Member of Parliament and MLA C Apok Jamir attended as the special guest.

The opening program, chaired by Livikaliyepthomi, assistant professor in the Department of Management Studies, began with the hoisting of the national and university flags by Jamir and Vice-Chancellor Dr. D. Gnanadurai. The ceremony featured performances symbolizing alternative energy sources, followed by athletic competitions.

In his address, Jamir emphasized the role of sports in personal and societal growth, encouraging students to push beyond limits and overcome obstacles. He highlighted the importance of integrity and health, both physical and spiritual, as life’s greatest assets.

Jonsuthung Humtsoe administered the oath-taking ceremony, and the Olympic torch was carried by Nanglem Konyak, Rüvezo Swüro, Vilevonuo Khamo, Konven V. Ong, and Akhriezokelio.

The event concluded with Jamir officially declaring the sports meet open.
