A call for resilience and patriotism

NSCN-K (YA)

My fellow Naga National workers and beloved Nagas, on this grand occasion marking the 46th anniversary of the Naga National Republic day, I greet you all in the mighty name of our living God. We observe this day with deep gratitude to God’s everlasting love and full appreciation of the strong resilience, determination and patriotism of the Naga people.

The NSCN/GPRN also bow our heads in remembrance and offer our highest honour to the countless brave Naga martyrs who have laid down their lives in defence of the nation. The new generation of Naga revolutionaries and fighters will forever remember and draw inspiration from their lifelong commitment and priceless sacrifices. Today we renew our pledge that we will remain worthy of their sacrifices and carry forward the torch of resistance till we achieve our goal.

My fellow Compatriots, We the Nagas are endowed with the sacred rights by God to be a nation and serve his purpose. Since ancient time Nagas are a proud, independent, and free people till India and Myanmar illegally occupied our land. Like every people on earth Nagas too have the sovereign right of self-defence. If seeking freedom is a crime, then we are prepared to accept full responsibility for our crime. Even if every single Naga is branded as terrorist we will never give up our fight for freedom. If we stop midway all the eight decades of sacrifices will be in vain. Despite our enemies’ military and intelligence superiority, the NSCN/GPRN will not be intimidated and we will stand our ground.

I salute our Naga Army for their patriotism and courage and they continued to displayed high standard of professionalism and bravery in the face of unimaginable challenges. They are ready to defend every inch of the Naga territory and safeguard our sovereignty at all cost. Many of them have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the recent past. We remember them today and their families.

The NSCN/GPRN strongly declare our unwavering stand that the Naga people’s right to national freedom and national unity is indispensable, and there is no other path outside of full sovereignty.

Everyone who claims to be Naga by blood has a continuing obligation in this national journey and our collective better future. This obligation is not temporary; it lasts forever. Let us remember that the test of this moment is the test of all time. The choice we make today will determine the kind of future we envisage for our children: to be assimilated and enslaved eternally or be free generations.

Today the enemies of the Nagas are no longer at the gates, they are within. Some hard-headed Nagas strongly doubts whether sovereignty is achievable or not. They think that full Independence is just an elusive dream. They dare to speak of doubts and uncertainty when every inch of the Naga country is actually stained by the blood of their patriotic Naga brothers and sisters. They speak from behind the curtains because they fear the future. It is the end of the road for them. They choose to hide in the dark because they have made the wrong choices. Such group of Nagas are reducing to slaves in exchange for power and monetary benefits. This contradiction has caused the greatest harm to the Naga struggle rendering our sacrifices and efforts directionless and meaningless.

Again some Naga political groups speaks of Naga nationalism from the comfy of their luxurious homes and offices. They are just in words and tone only to hoodwink the Naga public. These are all roadblocks on the path towards our awaited goal. The NSCN/GPRN will continue to denounce the false solutions proposed by the Government of India in connivance with the Naga political groups. We do not believe that the vexed Naga political issue could be solved through piecemeal solution. Any political solution short of full sovereignty will be a clear betrayal of the supreme sacrifices made by thousands of Nagas on both sides of the imposed boundary.

If Nagas are to become free nation on earth, as God has destined us to be, our past mistakes and errors must not be allowed to follow us into the future. The painful experience of the past must act as a catalyst to refine and improve the course of our National movement. History does not reward confused political ideologies and fragmented voices. It approves and supports clarity, discipline and unity.

Nagas must learn to embrace our weaknesses and mistakes and together we must manage our differences as we continue to move forward. The pain and suffering we have endured together throughout the past decades must invigorate us to boldly face whatever lies ahead. Of course we cannot change the past history, but the future is in our hands to make.

To Nagas everywhere: your sacrifice, dedication and patriotism is what has brought us to where we are today. Your resolve and commitment is strong and unshakeable. The road ahead is long and unpredictable and we do not know when we will be free; but we do know that, Nagas will always keep fighting, keep striving, keep moving forward and under God’s grace we will surely achieve our long cherish freedom.

May God continue to bless the Naga people and our national struggle!

Kuknalim!
