ACVA Wokha holds handing-taking over ceremony

The All Commercial Vehicle Association (ACVA) Wokha District held a formal handing and taking over ceremony for the newly elected office bearers at its office in Wokha on May 31. The programme marked the official transition of leadership for the tenure of 2025-2030.

The newly appointed team will be led by Yanithung Lotha as President, Lipenthung Ovung as General Secretary, and T Renbemo Kikon as Finance Secretary. The outgoing leadership handed over the responsibilities in a smooth and ceremonial manner, marking a new chapter for the association.

In his farewell address, the outgoing President, C Renbi Ngullie, expressed gratitude to the members for their unwavering support throughout his tenure. He thanked his colleagues and sub-units for their cooperation, which ensured a successful term.

Ngullie highlighted the key resolutions passed by the association, including the critical decision on ‘one government, one tax,’ which had been formally resolved by the house. He appealed to all members to stay alert and vigilant, emphasising that the association operates primarily on an issue-based approach. He also asked for forgiveness for any unintentional mistakes made by the outgoing team during their tenure and wished the new leadership team the best of luck as they take over the reins.

Renben Ngullie, Vice President of the incoming team, spoke on behalf of the new leadership, acknowledging the contributions of the outgoing team and requesting their continued support and advice.

In his address, Lipenthung Ovung, General Secretary highlighted some of the new policies and plans in place aimed at further uplifting the association’s status and welfare. He urged the members of the association to offer their cooperation and support to the new leadership team as they embark on their tenure.

The finance report for the 11th Foundation Day 2025 celebration was presented by T Renbemo Kikon, the incoming Finance Secretary. The report detailed the financial management and expenditure of the event, ensuring transparency and accountability to all members.

The ceremony concluded with a special dedicatory prayer for both the outgoing and incoming teams, led by Mhao Ngullie, Deacon of the Wokha Town Baptist Church (WTBC).
The vote of thanks was presented by the outgoing President, C Renbi Ngullie.
