MOKOKCHUNG, June 2 (MExN): The Ao Students’ Conference (AKM) has expressed concern over ongoing reports of alleged kidnapping cases in and around Dimapur and Kohima, calling for heightened public awareness and vigilance.
In a press statement issued on June 2, the student body acknowledged that while the full facts of the reported incidents are yet to be confirmed, the nature of the cases is alarming and demands proactive community response.
“With Mokokchung sharing a border with Assam and considering the ease of inter-district and interstate movement, we urge the general public—especially students, parents, educational institutions, youth organizations, and village authorities—to remain on high alert,” AKM stated.
The student organization appealed to the people of Mokokchung to report any suspicious activity, including unfamiliar persons or vehicles and abnormal movements in their locality, to the nearest police station or institution. The public may also contact the AKM at +91 70057 40523 or +91 88374 86276.
“This is a precautionary call to action. Let’s stay alert. Stay safe,” it added.
