Decries police complaint filed against its action
DIMAPUR, JANUARY 4 (MExN): The Kitovi Zhimomi-led GPRN/NSCN issued a press release informing of the busting of an alleged sex trafficking network in Dimapur. According to the release, issued by its Ministry of Kilo (Home) Affairs through the Ministry of Information and Publicity, two local girls were rescued in an operation conducted by the Crime Control Cell (CCC) on December 29, 2025, following reports of illegal activity.
It subsequently resulted in the arrest of two men, identified as Fazul Haque, a resident of Dimapur originally from Baragram, Assam, and Mohit Uddin, a resident of 7th Mile, Chumoukedima. One vehicle, a Maruti Alto, registered as a taxi (NL 07T 0770), allegedly used as a conveyance was confiscated. The release alleged that the vehicle was owned by one Babul from Singrijan.
However, the GPRN/NSCN said that a police complaint was filed by what it said was “certain individual(s)” regarding the apprehension of the suspect and the vehicle. Terming the complaint as “retaliatory in nature” designed to obstruct their investigation and dilute the gravity of the alleged crime, the release asserted that all actions taken during the interception, rescue, and arrest were supported by evidence and followed due procedure.
It cautioned against any attempts to shield traffickers or provide misinformation to discredit anti-crime operations, while the public and “responsible authorities” were urged to refrain from entertaining and spreading misinformation.
