Altrura Society marks 12th Foundation Day

CHUMOUKEDIMA, APRIL 2 (MExN): The Altrura Society celebrated its 12th Foundation Day on March 31 with a gathering of members and well-wishers at its head office in Chumoukedima, marking the occasion with reflections on its journey and the election of a new leadership team for the 2025 to 2028 term.

The event began with an invocation, followed by a program led by Vice President Jaser Meru. Outgoing President Megosielie Kruse addressed the gathering, expressing gratitude to members for their unwavering support and dedication. He highlighted the society’s collective accomplishments over the past years and acknowledged the selfless contributions of members who have played a role in advancing the society’s goals.

General Secretary Visakuolie Medom delivered an exhortation that underscored the importance of teamwork and unity. He emphasized that the society’s strength lies in its members' shared commitment and collaborative spirit, and urged everyone to remain united in addressing challenges and working toward common objectives.

The society welcomed Ketousilie Meru as its new president. In his address, Meru reaffirmed his dedication to the society’s core values and outlined a vision centered on inclusive growth, sustainable development, youth empowerment, and deeper community engagement. Alongside him, Visakuolie Medom was elected Vice President, Neivikho Savi as General Secretary, Zakiesielie Chusi as Joint Secretary, Neibi Nagi as Treasurer, Keduosietuo Shuya as Property Secretary, Keneiwelie Kin as Games and Sports Secretary, and Nguvikuolie Chüsi as Information and Publicity Secretary. Megosielie Kruse will continue to serve the society in an advisory capacity.

The newly elected leadership pledged to uphold the society’s motto of “Service Above Self” and committed themselves to furthering its mission through dedicated service and meaningful community initiatives.
