Anti-drug awareness rally held in New Jalukie

Peren, June 6 (MExN): An anti-drug awareness rally was organised at New Jalukie village in Nagaland's Peren district on Saturday with the aim of spreading awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and strengthening community efforts to curb drug peddling.

The programme was jointly organised by the New Jalukie Village Youth Organization and the New Jalukie Women Society and witnessed participation from students, village leaders and residents.

Addressing the gathering, counsellor of the OST Centre at CHC Jalukie, Kevewulou, and Aziku Kulimbe spoke on the harmful effects of drug addiction on individuals and society and stressed the need for collective action to build a drug-free community. They also urged young people to make informed choices and actively participate in combating substance abuse.

 

The organisers acknowledged the financial support extended by Ginbonlung Kamei and Aziku Kulimbe, stating that their contributions played an important role in the successful conduct of the programme.

Students from L.M. Higher Secondary School, United Christian School and New Jalukie Baptist School participated enthusiastically in the rally along with village leaders, members of the women society and other concerned citizens.

The New Jalukie Village Youth Organization expressed gratitude to the resource persons, donors, students, schools, village authorities, women society members and members of the public for their support and cooperation. The organisation reaffirmed its commitment to continue working towards a healthy, safe and drug-free society.
