
After seeing the NPSC answer keys of Prelims examination 2011 which was published on August 2 2011 in various newspapers, the following answers given by NPSC of Question set (B) was found to be wrong.
1.Q.No.99. Find the number of rectangles in the given figure.
The NPSC has given the answer (B) i.e. 14, whereas in the given figure there is only 10 rectangles which was not in the given options.
2. Q.No.111. The administrative Headquarters of Naga hills District was shifted to Kohima from Samaguting (Chumukedima) in the year:
The NPSC has given the answer (B) i.e. 1878, whereas in 1878 the Naga Hills District administrative headquarters was shifted from Wokha to Kohima and not from Samaguting to Kohima.
3.Q.No.141.When the value of exports exceed the value of import, it is term as:
The correct answer is (A) i.e. favorable balance of trade and not (C), because when any country value of export exceeds their value of import the trade is considered to be in their country’s favor.
4. Q.No.169. The system of Panchayati Raj involves:
The correct answer is (A) i.e. the village, block and district and not (C), because according to the 73rd constitutional Amendment Act 1992 the Panchayati Raj consist of Gram Panchayat at village level, Panchayati Samiti at the block level and Zila Parishad at the district level.
5. Q.No.183. The reforms of the banking sector were based on the recommendation of the:
The correct answer is (A) i.e. Narasimham committee and not (B), because Chelliah committee was appointed for tax reforms. It was Narasimham committee appointed by the Govt. for banking sector reform in 1998.
6. Q.No.192. India has ______________ of the total world population:
According to the latest population census of India 2011, the population of India account for 17.50% of the total world population. Whereas none of the given option was found to be correct. Hence, the answer should be (A) i.e 17.80 which is the nearest to the latest census percentage.
