Kohima, August 30 (MExN): The Angami Sports Association (ASA), along with its four regional bodies-Northern Angami Sports Association (NASA), Western Angami Youth Organisation (WAYO), Chakhroma Youth Organisation (CYO) and Southern Angami Sports Association (SASA) held a consultative meeting at Piphema Cultural Hall on August 29.
The meeting, chaired by ASA Vice President Thinuovilie Keyho, brought together executives and leaders from the four regions to discuss youth development and the future of Games and Sports.
ASA president Ruokuovikho Chale delivered the keynote address while ASA treasurer Virielhoulie Miario briefed the gathering on sports equipment availability and procurement.
The regional leaders and senior players shared their experiences and views, focusing on nurturing young minds, effectively utilising sports talent, promoting physical health, and adopting a “minimum budget, maximum platform” approach.
Participants also emphasised using sports not merely for competition but as a movement for positive change and community wellbeing.
The meeting further discussed the upcoming 55th ASA Meet, tentatively scheduled for 18–19 February 2027, with indigenous games to be included as part of the event.
