DIMAPUR, MARCH 28 (MExN): The ASMITA City League in shooting sports, sponsored by the Department of Youth Resources & Sports through the District Sports Officer, Dimapur, was held on March 25 and 26 at the Aries Rifle & Pistol Shooting Academy, Khelo India Centre, Dimapur.
The event was organized under the Achieving Sports Milestone By Inspiring Women Through Action (ASMITA) initiative, a Khelo India program aimed at promoting sports among women while fostering awareness about health and fitness.
A total of 13 shooters, ranging in age from 9 to 60, competed in various categories. In the 10m Air Rifle Sub Youth ‘A’ Women Individual category, Echenlemla Aier secured the gold medal. Jentiya Walling won gold in the 10m Air Rifle Sub Youth ‘B’ Women Individual event, with Kholia Kape taking silver. In the Sub Youth ‘C’ Women Individual category, Viotoli S Kiho won gold, Lovino Sema claimed silver, and Tenumenla Alingri secured bronze.
Yimyakumla took home gold in the 10m Air Rifle Sub Youth (ISSF) Women Individual category, while Lanusenla Longchar won gold in the 10m Air Rifle Women Individual event. In the 10m Air Rifle Senior Master Women Individual category, Chizou Sorhienuo won gold. Yuvika Aye claimed the gold medal in the 10m Air Pistol Youth Women Individual category.
