Chümoukedima, August 3 (MExN): The Governor of Nagaland, Nand Kishore Yadav, attended the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Nagaland, Chümoukedima, on August 2.
The programme forms part of the Government of India’s 100-week nationwide campaign against substance abuse, aimed at obilizing youth, educational institutions and communities to build a drug-free and developed India, stated a DIPR report.
The Governor also visited a poster exhibition showcasing awareness campaigns and creative exhibits prepared by students as part of the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan. Appreciating the students’ creativity and commitment, the Governor encouraged them to become ambassadors of the movement and spread the message of a drug-free future in their communities.
The Governor along with the attendees joined the live telecast of the address by the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, who launched the 100-week nationwide campaign against substance abuse under the Nasha Mukt Yuva for Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, calling upon the youth of the country to lead the movement against drug abuse and contribute towards building a Vikshit Bharat.
The programme concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Dr Manoj E Prabhakar, Registrar, NIT Nagaland.
Faculty members, students, staff and officials of NIT Nagaland participated in the programme, collectively reaffirming their commitment to supporting the Government of India’s 100-week Nasha Mukt Yuva for Vikshit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan and promoting a healthier, addiction-free society through sustained awareness and youth-led initiatives.
