Mon, August 25 (MExN): A district-level Bike Outreach Worker programme was launched for the DISHA Unit in Mon on August 24 to extend HIV and STI-related services to remote and hard-to-reach areas of the district.
The launching programme was held at the CMO Office Complex in the presence of ADC Pakon Phom and Dr Cheyale Kath, DVBO, Mon. The new Bike Outreach Worker will be attached to the TI, JACAOA, Tobu.
The ADC thanked the Nagaland State AIDS Control Society (NSACS) for prioritising Mon district and encouraged the DISHA team to use the Bike Outreach programme to provide HIV and STI prevention, testing and counselling services, along with basic health services, in remote areas.
The initiative is intended to improve access to essential services for communities that may face difficulties reaching conventional health facilities.
