The newly completed bypass road adjacent to Khouchiezie Local Ground connecting South Gate to North Gate has been opened for vehicular traffic (LMVs only) with immediate effect. This was notified by Kohima deputy commissioner and Kohima Regional Transport Authority chairman B Henok Buchem.
In the form of regulations, it stated that the bypass road will operate strictly as a one-way street, moving from the South Gate towards Razhu Point Junction via the North Gate or Khuochiezie Local Ground. Vehicular entry from Razhu Point Junction towards the North Gate of Khouchiezic Local Ground shall be restricted. All street vendors currently operating near Razhu Point area, NST area, DC Office Road and Phoolbari must relocate to the designated spaces along the bypass road, it stated.
The Kohima Municipal Council and the Town Street Vending Committee will manage these arrangements at an early date. Parking of vehicles along the entire stretch of bypass road shall not be allowed. Two Wheeler Taxi Parking at Razhu Point junction shall be shifted to designated parking opposite Ozone Cafe, stated Kohima DC in office order.
