Candlelight, prayer vigil for Naga Reconciliation

Dimapur, March 12 (MExN): Civil organizations of Dimapur in cooperation with Forum for Naga Reconciliation request all citizens of Dimapur, Nagas or Non Nagas, irrespective of religion or political affiliation to join in the candlelight prayer vigil on Sunday, March 13 at the City Tower square at 6 PM.
The event is to “seek blessings of God for peace and to demonstrate solidarity towards reconciliation process in the Naga cause,” a note from Dimapur organizations led by the Naga Council said. “The lighting of every single candle by each individual will signify your participation and contribution towards bringing light to the long and unique history of Naga struggle for peace. Be someone with a light for peace.”
People from different parts of Dimapur will walk in from all directions towards City Tower point with candles lit. Citizens can also take candles at the spot it was informed. Meanwhile the community of three villages Bade, Ura and Diezephe gathered at around 5:00 pm for a candle light prayer and vigil for Naga reconciliation and for urgency of the highest level meet. According to a source, the gathering resolved that the highest level meet should be held at the earliest without further delay. Dr C. Cho-o spoke during the occasion.
In addition, PeaceChannel organized a candlelight prayer meet in the four schools of Dimapur on March 12. Eden Hr. Sec. School led the prayer meet for the student leaders of King David School, Great Kids Commission, Mission Hr.Sec. School and Eden Hr.Sec. School, PeaceChannel stated in a note today.  Trinity School, King David and Hornbill School Dimapur also organized prayers separately.
The note added – “While reading the message of Rev. C.P. Anto, the director Peace Channel, said that the urgency of our prayer for peace, unity and reconciliation was to accomplish the mission of FNR to explore together the possibilities of a new reconciled political relationship among the signatories of the Covenant of Reconciliation; and to develop a joint working mechanism to pursue the historical and political rights of
the Nagas.”
