Jakhama, November 24 (MExN): The 2 (two) days long Sports Meet 2018 of the Men Fellowship under the Chakhesang Baptist Church Ministers’ Hill, Kohima (CBCMHK) today successfully culminated here at Jakhama Local Ground, with Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, Sr. Pastor, CBCMHK offering thanksgiving prayer in the morning of the final day and Thujoneyi Veswuh, Associate Pastor, CBCMHK offering a closing prayer and de-hoist the Sports Meet Flag 2018.
Lerie Sector Church downed Old Ministers’ Hill-Potterlane by 2/0 in the football final and lifted the coveted title of 2018 Football Trophy. Kutholuyi Vadeo opened the first account for the Lerie Sector Church in the first half while Wepete Mero netted the second goal in the second half.
In the Tug of War, Lower Forest Colony defeated Chandmari-PWD-Town area and became the champion of the 2018 Tug of War Competition.
According to a press statement issued by Media Coordinator, Kuzhovesa Soho, 10 teams competed in the 2 days long Sports Meet and approximately 700 persons from Men Department of the Church registered in the Meet as players, caterers, prayer group, cheerleaders etc. .
The Men Fellowship of the CBCMHK expressed its heartfelt gratitude to the Jakhama Youth Organization and Jakhama Village Council for providing the Ground and enabled the Sports Meet organized under a grand manner. The Men Fellowship further prayed that God blessed all citizens of Jakhama in abundance.
Meanwhile, Men Annual Day 2018 shall observed on tomorrow (25 November-Sunday) at the Church premises with Rev. Dr. Zelhuo Keyho, General Secretary, Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) as the speaker on the topic “Be an Example” (1 Timothy 4:12).
Rev. Wepre Mero, Pastor, CBCMHK shall lead the congregation, Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, Sr. Pastor, CBCMHK shall pronounced a pastoral prayer, Muhusa Resu, shall pray for the offering, Vemusu Cürha shall read the word of God, while, CBCMHK Youth Choir and Chandmari-PWD-Town area Men groups shall present a special praises. Prizes shall be given away to the winners of the competition events during the service besides, there will be an annual day fest in the church compound after the service.
