CEO Nagaland conducts meeting with political parties at CEO level.
Kohima, March 28 (MExN): The Chief Electoral Officer Nagaland, Vysan R along with his team of officers had a state level meeting with representatives from political parties at Civil Secretariat on March 28.
The CEO Nagaland apprised the members present that the meeting was the culmination of meetings held at Electoral Registration Officers’ and District Election officers’ level.
An update received here said, the CEO Nagaland highlighted that the election machinery is primarily for the electors and the political parties and thus appealed for active co-operation and participation of the political parties. He appealed to the recognised political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents at the polling stations.
Awa Lorin, Additional Chief Electoral Officer informed the political parties that the Election Commission of India is giving importance to political parties as one of the stake holders in the electoral process. He also explained that there are no pending issues at the ERO and DEO levels in Nagaland. IT related applications like voters’ service portal, NGRS, Saksham etc were briefed by Ketousie-u Khruomo, AEO (MIS). The meeting was attended by representatives from six political parties.
