Kohima, March 27 (MExN): The Chief Electoral Officer, Nagaland, Vyasan R has convened a state-level meeting with all the political parties on March 28, 12 noon in the Office Chamber of the Home Commissioner, Nagaland Civil Secretariat, Kohima.
As per the State DIPR, the meeting has been convened to deliberate on any issue with political parties relating to matters of election. All the political parties are requested to depute a representative to participate in the meeting, it added.
While the release did not elaborate on the details of the meeting, it is expected to discuss the issue of duplicate Elector's Photo Identity Card (EPIC) numbers.
On March 7, the Election Commission of India (ECI) assured that the matter would be resolved within the next three months after detailed discussions with the technical teams and concerned CEOs.
A similar meeting scheduled earlier on March 13. However, it is unclear if the March 28 meeting is a postponement or a continuation of the process.
