DIMAPUR, MARCH 30 (MExN): In a joint effort to promote a cleaner and healthier city, the Chakhesang Baptist Church Dimapur and Dimapur Sumi Baptist Church organized a large-scale cleanliness drive on Saturday.

The initiative saw around 400 volunteers participating across three key locations: from the Flyover near Tourist Lodge to Batta Charali, from Deluxe Point to Khermahal Police Point, and from Khermahal Police Point to City Clock Tower.

The event began with a prayer led by Rev. Dr. P. Bonny Resü, seeking divine guidance for the collective effort. Volunteers took to the streets with a shared commitment to addressing persistent waste management issues, including littered roads, clogged drains, and indiscriminate dumping of garbage.

The social work initiative, grounded in faith and community spirit, aimed to set an example for others to follow. “This is more than just picking up trash. It’s about fostering a sense of accountability and pride in our surroundings,” one of the volunteers said.

The organizers hope the initiative will inspire long-term community action toward sustainable cleanliness and environmental responsibility in Dimapur.
