Chümoukedima, November 6 (MExN): The Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR) has signed two separate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the State Labour Department, Government of Nagaland, and the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Government of India, to provide healthcare benefits to eligible ESI beneficiaries and their dependents.

The MoU with the State Labour Department provides for cashless medical services through a referral system, along with a 20 per cent concession on specified healthcare services.

The agreement with ESIC covers cashless outpatient (OPD), inpatient (IPD), emergency, diagnostic and specialised healthcare services through referrals, with a 20 per cent concession on eligible services at mutually agreed rates.

The partnerships are aimed at strengthening access to quality and affordable healthcare for insured employees and their families under the State and Central Government ESI schemes.

CIHSR conducts workshop to strengthen emergency cardiac care in Nagaland
The Department of Cardiology, Christian Institute of Health Sciences and Research (CIHSR), conducted a two-day capacity-building workshop on November 4 and 5 to strengthen emergency cardiac care and improve coordination between peripheral healthcare centres and specialist cardiac teams across Nagaland.

The workshop focused on training doctors, nurses and ECG technicians in the use of CorConnect, a mobile application designed to connect peripheral healthcare facilities directly with cardiac care specialists at CIHSR.

Participants from Police Referral Hospital, Chümoukedima; Medziphema Community Health Centre; Khonoma Primary Health Centre; Holy Redeemer Health Centre, Chümoukedima; and Jalukie Community Health Centre attended the training.

The sessions included practical, case-based training in ECG interpretation, covering critical cardiac conditions such as acute heart attacks and heart blocks requiring pacemaker intervention.

Through CorConnect, frontline healthcare facilities can securely transmit patient histories, 12-lead electrocardiograms (ECGs) and vital signs to CIHSR specialists for timely assessment and clinical guidance.

The system is intended to facilitate early intervention, patient stabilisation and coordinated referrals during the critical 'Golden Hour', when timely medical intervention can significantly influence patient outcomes.
