Classic Club Kohima today downed Kohima Press Club 9-4 to retain the Challenger Cup 2018 played here at Kohima Local Ground. This is the fifth consecutive year that Classic Club has lifted the Challenger Cup.
Challenger Cup is an annual event between KPC and Classic Club Kohima as part of the football tournament of Classic Cup.
Ruovizhalie (Bubu) contributed five goals to Classic Club while Kekhriesetuo netted two goals. K. Neibu Sekhose and Mhaphruo scored a goal each.
Asalie fetched a hattick for Kohima Press Club while Ketou Viluo added another goal to the team.
MLA Chotisuh Sazo, who is also member of Classic Club gave away prizes to the winners.
Earlier, the members observed two minute silence and paid respect to the departed souls of late Xavier Rutsa and late Zaselatuo Solo.
